Where Trindade is and how to get there

Trindade lies on Paraty’s southern coast. By car you take the Rio-Santos highway (BR-101) and then a short, very steep mountain road down to the village. There are buses from Paraty too, but the most comfortable way is a tour with transport and a guide, who organizes the stops and the return time.

The beaches of Trindade

  • Praia do Meio: a cove with calm, clear water between the forest and the rocks, perfect for swimming and photos.
  • Praia dos Ranchos: the village beach, with restaurants and fishing boats.
  • Praia do Cachadaço: framed by rocks and forest, it leads to the natural pool.
  • Praia do Cepilho: the surfers’ beach, with bigger waves.

The Cachadaço natural pool

Trindade’s postcard view is a natural aquarium formed by giant boulders, with clear water and fish. You reach it by a moderate trail of about 45 minutes, or by small boat, paid separately per person each way. Go at low tide with a calm sea: that is when the pool is at its most beautiful and safest.
