Atlantic Forest jeep tour: waterfalls and distilleries
In a 4x4 Toyota Bandeirante jeep, with a driver-guide and no more than 8 people, the tour visits the Pedra Branca waterfall, Poço da Usina and Poço do Tarzan, with a natural rock slide and jumps of up to 4 meters. Along the way there are cachaça tastings at local distilleries, a traditional cassava flour house and, if you like, an artisan cheese farm. Free pick-up at guesthouses and hotels in central Paraty (within 3 km of the agency).
A full day in Trindade
Trindade is a caiçara fishing village about 30 km from Paraty, famous for the Cachadaço natural pool. The tour leaves Paraty between 10:30 and 11 am by van or jeep and visits Praia do Meio, Praia dos Ranchos (lunch not included), Cachadaço and the natural pool, with a cheese tasting on the way back. Yes, these are easy and fun tours for children. Only the cachaça tasting is for over-18s.
